Welcome to MatchAngler ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MatchAngler web application and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MatchAngler, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization (such as a fishing club), you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

MatchAngler is a web-based platform designed for managing sea angling clubs, including but not limited to:

  • League and match management
  • Member registration and tracking
  • Financial management and reporting
  • Fish specimen recording and validation
  • Prize distribution and payment tracking

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You may not use another person's account without permission. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Subscription Plans. MatchAngler offers various subscription plans with different features and pricing. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your chosen plan.

4.2 One-Off Matches. We also offer a one-time payment option for individual match management at £9.95 per match, with no recurring subscription required.

4.3 Payment Processing. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method.

4.4 Automatic Renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription rate.

4.5 Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

4.6 Price Changes. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Your Content. You retain ownership of all data, information, and content you upload to the Service ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant us a license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

5.2 Responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting or publishing it. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to use and authorize us to use your User Content.

5.3 Prohibited Content. You agree not to upload or share content that:

  • Violates any law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains viruses or malicious code
  • Is defamatory, obscene, or offensive
  • Violates the privacy rights of others

5.4 Data Backup. While we perform regular backups, you are responsible for maintaining your own backup copies of important data.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to transmit spam or unsolicited communications
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Collect or store personal data about other users

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by MatchAngler and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of personal data as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data, including encryption and secure server infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature. Upon termination by either party, you remain liable for all charges incurred up to the termination date.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected. We make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of the Service's content.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MATCHANGLER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MatchAngler, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
